Dream ~ Dragon Family

Alright like I said this dream is going to be a long one. It's full of imagery too.

The dream focuses on the setting. A camera scrolls from below through a marble door. Everything is made from a tanned stone. Or maybe it was just the lighting as everything has a warm hue to it in this room. It starts panning right where I get the see the elaborate arches and various steam punk style invention set up in a narrow loft to the right all within this Renaissance architure. And then music begins playing somewhere. At first sounding like "I need some Sleep" (just the music box). I hear someone having a discussion with the father of the church (turns out that's what this building is) about some kind of sin committed by another. A wind blows and I see a thin curtain fabric move, this acts as a scene transition cause next I see an old woman. She is small and hunched over, like a sweet little grandmother who's always baking. She tells her testimony to this sin and claims the only reason she hasn't committed suicide for it herself is that she wants to give others her testimony before her years are up. I see a sort of brief image flash back of her killing her grandson. All the while she's still smiling rather innocently in "real-time" which makes her seem rather manic. Around this point the melancholy music box gets subtly deeper and the pace changes. Finally there are some lyrics too and they're sung by a voice resembling Marco Hietala from Nightwish. It makes me sad though that I can't remember the lyrics. The song was so sad and angry in lyrics but had a tone of hope and regret. But anyways this song continues at certain points during the rest of this dream.

Oh I forgot one other piece of scenery key to this song is some brass "device". It maintain the theme of steam punk but with an ancient greek look about it too. It was some sort of Globe made of large broken gears. In the middle of it were cloth, string and brass beads. Each piece had some markings on them, pulling on one area inside the globe affected another.

Next there was a sudden change where I was a guest at this rich man's mansion because his son befriended. me. Who by the way was only in middle school type age and all his servant were strangely black women wearing clothes suiting what they probably wore during slavery times in Southern United States. We had gone to the balcony as I ate a little brunch with the boy's family. It didn't last long as the father left in quite a rush. The mother talked a little while longer before telling me of  a guest's room since it was late and I was so far from home. I settle into a rocking chair at the balcony. The hot summer night felt comfortable and thankfully free of insects.

Meanwhile the servants gossiped, sometimes including me like my coworkers in real life . The head servant,  is one of the oldest of the women. They don't really listen to her well and she's trying to call them outsdie for something. "I can yell at them to get out here. I can be scary you know." I say tiredly in my rocking chair and trying to produce a somewhat serious face.

The son comes back saying he wants to show me something. This is where the aforementioned song begins playing again as we come before this shallow creek. Did I mention this kid is crazy smart? Well we arrive to this place which is in a nearby ruined tower reminscient of Renaissance dome designs. (Or just imagine those crumbling buildings in Ferelden if you've ever played Dragon Age. Only less majestic looking and more haunting as it is late sunset) Once we get up there I see that brass device from this dream earlier. The kid mentions something about his father but I can't recall it as the next thing I can remember is waking up near the edge of a small cliff just a ways from that creek that was nearby the tower we had climbed into.  Only it is dawn now. My memory has some vague recollection of fighting a giant lizard...

"Here use this" that kid tells me as I'm litterally sprawled across the gravel trying to gain my bearings.
"It'll make you stronger." He tells me. Vaguely I am aware of his pet komodo dragon but mostly I notice his father coming with a army of men.

He is wearing bright green/red/gold outfit with a cape, and I realized I am too though moist with water and covered with dirt in places. His son (the kid behind me) is wearing more muted autumn colors and rather than looking fancy his clothes look meant for travelling. The father seems angry; he clenches his jaw a few times before actually speaking. The bottle I had was glass spray bottle that looked like cologne belonged in it. Nonethless if there was any time I needed strength is was now. I used 3 sprays in the direction of my chest, some gettting in my mouth.

The fog on my mind lifted suddenly there were things in thsi world I suddenly saw and knew. The one who befriended me is really my brother and the reason for his genius was because of our father (that angry man clenching his jaw). But I can't figure out why I was separated from them, only it dawns on me that my brother had used a process on me that his father did on him. It's why he was such a genius. Brother jumps fromt he cliff disappearing into thin air just as father starts shouting. Though I never saw where he went I swear I heard the sound of wings unfolding and meeting the wind.

I'm obviously confused so father seeming angry as first softens and starts "explaining" to me what's going on, which is exactly as I surmised with a few details thrown in making my brother sound like a villain. The whole father and son reunited, disowned brother blah blah.

Fast forward40 years later I am still the same age since whatever was done to me made me immortal. It also granted me a lot of power. The entire time my brother had been hiding, he aged some so he looked my age instead of a middle schooler. But inside he was a bitter old hermit and coward paying for his mistakes. What had just happened recently is I uncovered some secrets about our real mother. She died years ago during our childbirth (yes we're twins and somehow different age? idk). The reason for her death was an experiment run very similarly to Final Fantasy 7's Jenova project which, in this case, involved putting dragon's DNA while we were still a fetus. This discovery of course included a flash back where complications during birth required father to cruelly cut us out of her belly instead of giving a proper C-Section. Father was a power-hungry mad man from the beginning, though he always seemed so stable before. The purpose of the experiment was his quest for ultimate power. My separation from my family is left unexplained for now.

Now remember the creek, cliff, and the tower? We are just right of the tower underneath the arch of a roman aqueduct that meets with the back wall of the ruined cathedral. It is sun set again so the sun is behind the cathedral and everything is a reddish hue. I never actively looked my brother until now. I speak to him, just barely containg how upset at am with all my discoveries. "It's been a long time brother. Father knows of this place he plans to catch you."
"It's too late we cannot stop him now."
"You! Have you tried to all? All these years I was in the dark-" my temper flares. I couldn't grasp a way to stop our father from his goal either but was willing to try.

Now a gift I received from this mutation is precognition so before it ever happens I see a half-dragon shadow appear to our left. I know immediately who it is. "Brother move!" He spots this just in time changing into his half-dragon form and flying of in  an instant. The poor structure didn't stand a chance and crumbled when his claws hit it. Morphing wasn't a strong point of mine. Instead of doing it instantly I fall backwards off the structure and change mid-way fast enough to swoop back up and fly off. Landing it's fully night time and all three of us are gathered at a stone bridge in a park. There's a couple lamps that light the trail but no one is around. Father at this point transforms into a full dragon. He was already bigger than us half morphed now he's 4 times our size and we stand two feet taller than a human. Me and brother both change to full dragons but we remain only half his size.

Obviously he built upon his success with us to give himself power as well. Only he took it a step further. Where we were humans with some bits of dragon DNA he used it more fully, the human DNA of his being only secondary. His power is way beyond ours and I can feel it.

Both me and father are black dragons while my brother is blue. He's a bit weak having survived the cascading rocks and changing so quickly. His morale is still low and he refuses to hide with me, instead he ops to just let father kill him. It comes down to me to fight him here and now.

If you havae ever seen a Night Fury's breath attack That's what I could do except I could rapid fire twice before needing another second to inhale again. He seems completely invulnerable to them, except I stun him with one of my magic attacks by using my tail like I would my hands in human form (even though I have opposable thumbs in this form). Falling over on his back I fire my blast as different parts of his body hoping to find a weak point. Some weaker than others but nothing truly weak...at least not on his front. He gets up smiling devilishly at me. I don't think he even felt my attacks. And they were the strongest in my arsenal. The chase is on as he tries attacking me with claw swipes. Until I couldn't retreat at once point his face came really close to mine, about to unleash his red fire breath attack. I took that moment to try firing first into his mouth. I was quicker, firing several rounds. He seemed to chok for  moment this seemed great! I took this opportunity to create some distance between us and just in time too because a giant purple blast similar to mine rocketed out of his mouth then arced into the sky. I jsut gave him a more powerful breath attack! And this one imploded on itself creating a large area of destruction.

The very core of my battle tactics is taking whatever energy my opponent threw at me and turning it at them. I realized that doing so here would exhaust me and probably give father a new power each time.Add that to the fact he was practically invincible from my attacks. My coward brother was no where to be seen again. So fleeing was now at the top of my list. I take off flying, using nearby trees for cover. Eventually father gives up, flying in place as he taunts me like he can read my thoughts.

I was thinking of how he could kill mother like that, how he became a monster. "Love? I loved once, do you know what it's like to losing so many things you love?!" This seemed odd since I knew he was responsible for his wife's death. Maybe guilt drove him mad. I don't know but he he flies off headin in the direction of the city I made a life for myself in. He was going to destory it all.

My second sight wouldn't reveal where  my brother went so I had little choice but to follow father. On the way to the city I passed over the mansion where it all happened. There was a white flash and suddenly I'm in my younger body as just a little boy. We're somewhere on the land owned by my family. I can see some gardens and a large gazeebo, and the flowers hint it to be spring. First thing I notice though is the tenseness of my limo driver and the fact he is driving backwards. Though I don't speak a question, I look around. In front of us a car is driving in on us. We jerk to a stop as another mobster looking car cages us in from behind. The driver is the joker, in his signature purple suit and all. I look up front and see The Penguin (another batman villain since he doesn't get much attention) holding a gun in my direction. Assassins?! I duck into the seat. Trying to will myself back to present time in my body. Where I can resist death. A red dot appears in my vision flying at me. I flinch, putting my hands in front of me....and I wake up looking directly at my clock, but with my pillow over my face. It takes effort for me to move but eventually I can see all the numbers on the clock and they don't shift so I know for sure I'm awake now. whew
